"Bells" in 9 establishments for violation of measures. 27 citizens complained The number of complaints for violation of COVID measures amounted to 36 after 2,182 checks
In the last 24 hours (from 06.00 on Sunday until 06.00 today), the Police carried out 2.182 checks were carried out throughout the day, in order to ascertain compliance with the measures and implementation of the provisions of the Infectious Diseases Law.
A spokesman for the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters told the Cyprus News Agency that during the checks, 27 complaints from citizens and 9 complaints concerning establishments were received.
As for the checks by province, 398 checks were carried out in Nicosia, which resulted in 8 complaints from citizens and 8 premises, 305 checks were carried out in Limassol, which resulted in 5 complaints from citizens and 1 premises, and 584 checks were carried out in Larnaca, which resulted in 3 complaints from citizens, in Paphos 116 checks were carried out, which resulted in 5 complaints from citizens, in Famagusta 477 checks were carried out, which resulted in 6 complaints from citizens, in the Morphou area 162 checks were carried out, without any complaints.
In addition, the Traffic Police carried out 129 checks nationwide, without any complaints. Of the 2,182 checks, 11 involved the Port and Maritime Police, with no complaints arising.
In response to a question, the spokesman for the Police Headquarters Communications Branch said that the majority of complaints to citizens concerned the non-use of protective masks.
In response to a question regarding complaints to lodgings, he said that the largest out-of-court fine issued was €1.500, while the majority of the complaints to establishments concerned managers or employees who did not have a safepass.
