[Cyprus Times] "Bells" of up to 4 thousand euros to establishments for safe pass

In the last 24 hours, after 2,055 checks carried out by the Police across the country, the Police filed complaints against 20 citizens and 7 establishments, in order to ascertain compliance with and implementation of the provisions of the Infectious Diseases Law.

As a spokesman for the Police Headquarters Communication Branch told the Cyprus News Agency, 821 checks were carried out in Nicosia, which resulted in 7 complaints from citizens and 6 establishments, while in Limassol 188 checks were carried out, which resulted in 6 complaints from citizens and 1 establishment.

In Larnaca 389 checks were carried out and 1 citizen was complained about, in Paphos 132 checks were carried out, which resulted in 3 citizen complaints, in Famagusta 237 checks were carried out and there were 3 citizen complaints, while in the Morphou area 188 checks were carried out, with no complaints.

Also, nationwide, the Traffic Police carried out 100 checks, with no complaints.

Specifically, in the Nicosia district, members of the Police issued an extrajudicial notice to pay a sum of €3.000 euros as a manager of an establishment allowed an employee to work without a safepass, while another establishment was issued an extrajudicial fine of €4,000 as the manager of the establishment also allowed an employee to work without a safepass.

Two other establishments in Nicosia were fined €1,500 each as the owner of one did not wear a protective mask and safepass, while in the other the manager did not wear a protective mask.
