"Bells" of thousands of euros to establishments due to Safepass A cafeteria in Paphos is dragged to court 14 citizens and 9 establishments were complained against, for violation of COVID measures - 19
In 14 citizens and 9 establishments were reported by the police in the last 24 hours, after 1.820 carried out nationwide, in order to ascertain compliance with and implementation of the provisions of the Infectious Diseases Law.
As a spokesman for the Police Headquarters Communication Branch told CNA, 385 checks were carried out in Nicosia, during which 4 citizens and 7 establishments were complained about, while in Limassol 186 checks were carried out, which resulted in 4 complaints from citizens.
In Larnaca 520 checks were carried out and 1 citizen complained, in Paphos 147 checks were carried out, which resulted in 2 complaints against establishments, in Famagusta 369 checks were carried out and 5 citizens complained, while in Morphou 110 checks were carried out, without any complaints.
Also, nationwide, the traffic police carried out 103 checks, with no complaints.
Regarding complaints in Nicosia, in three cases 500 euro fines were imposed on premises managers for not having a Safepass, in another case a fine of 750 euro was imposed for the same reason, while another premises manager received an out-of-court fine of 3 thousand euro, also for not having Safepaas.
Also, an establishment in Nicosia was fined 4 thousand euros because an employee was found inside without a Safepass.
Finally, the authorities reported a cafeteria in Paphos that served customers at the bar and there were standing patrons inside the establishment, however due to repeated violations the case will be brought before a court.
