"Bell" 1,500 euros to a club manager for masks 16 people and 7 establishments were denounced by the police in checks for coronavirus

A total of 16 people and 7 establishments were denounced by the police in checks carried out nationwide on Monday. A total of 1,583 checks were carried out.

All the premises reported were in Nicosia District. The largest fine of €1,500 was imposed on a club whose managers and employees were not wearing protective masks.

In addition, four complaints were made against petrol stations. The largest fine given was for €1,000. A fine of €750 was also given and the other two were fined €500. All the complaints related to non-use of masks by managers and/or employees.

Another complaint was made at the offices of a company and a betting agency, with the same charges of non-use of a protective mask.

In Nicosia, out of 401 inspections, 10 people and 7 premises were reported. In Famagusta province, 3 individuals were reported from 305 checks, while in Larnaca, there were 2 individuals reported from 315 checks. In Paphos one additional person was complained about, out of 96 checks carried out.

In Limassol and Morphou district there were no complaints, out of 189 and 166 checks carried out respectively.

In addition, the Traffic Police carried out 111 checks, which resulted in no complaints.
