The arrest of a 49-year-old resident of Pafos was made today by the Police to facilitate investigations in relation to an ongoing case of internet fraud, fraud linked to information systems, theft and money laundering.

The case was reported to the Police on 17 November 2021, by a resident of Pafos.

According to the complainant, between July and November, 2021, unknown persons transferred from his bank account to an unknown account the sum of €28,000.

Also, on several other occasions, the unknown persons attempted to transfer from the complainant's account the sum of money in excess of €4.500, but without succeeding.

During the investigation of the case, testimony was obtained against the 49-year-old woman, on the basis of which a judicial arrest warrant was issued against her. In the afternoon today, the 49-year-old woman was arrested under the arrest warrant and taken into custody.
