The President of the Democratic Rally Mr. Averof Neophytou signed today the book of condolences on the death of David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, which was opened at the European Parliament's "House of Europe" office in Nicosia.
In his message, the President of the Democratic Rally wrote the following:
"On behalf of the Democratic Rally I would like to express my sincere condolences on the tragic loss of David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament.
David Sassoli will be remembered as a true European who shared and fought for the noblest human values such as democracy, solidarity and peace. These qualities of President Sassoli were recognised by all political groups and by every European country.
Europe has lost a great leader and Cyprus has lost a good friend. The highest tribute we can pay to him is to continue his work, to honour his legacy.
Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
Rest in peace David."
