Roads in the mountains open only for vehicles with four-wheel drive
Only for vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with anti-slip chains the roads Karvouna-Troodos, Platron-Troodos, and Prodromos-Troodos remain open due to slippery roads.
According to this morning's police update, rock and stone slides have occurred in several places on the Potamitissa-Kato Mill road, while rock and soil landslides have occurred on the Kyperounta-Dymes and Agrou-Agios Theodoros roads.
There are no particular problems on the motorways and the road network in urban areas in the morning, but due to the rainfall that occurred overnight, the road surface may be slippery in several places.
The Police recommend particular attention to those travelling on the road network, and vehicle drivers are advised to drive at a safe, low speed and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead.
It should be noted that the situation on the road network is variable due to the prevailing winter conditions. Before travelling, the public is advised to be informed about the situation on the road network, also through police announcements.
