The arrest of a 47-year-old man, against whom a case of car theft and unlawful possession of property is being investigated, was carried out by members of the police in the Nicosia district.[/B]

The stolen car was located following a suggestion by the suspect, which followed his arrest.

The 47-year-old suspect was spotted shortly after midnight last night[/B] by members of the Pera Horion Police Station, at an outhouse in Nicosia district and subjected to a check.

Attempting to escape the check, the suspect attacked by pushing one of the officers, with police members proceeding to arrest him for a self-inflicted offence, despite the suspect also putting up resistance.

A search followed, during which the keys to a car that had been stolen were found in the 47-year-old's possession, and then, at the suspect's own suggestion, the vehicle was recovered. Inside the vehicle police members found a laptop computer, along with a charger, which the 47-year-old confessed that he had stolen, as he confessed to the theft of the car.

The car, according to the evidence under investigation, was stolen in the evening between the dates 09 and 10 February, from an open parking area at the company's premises in the Nicosia district.

It was reported to Latsia Police Station on February 10 by the company's manager.
