A new cycle of testimonies opened more than a year after the disappearance of 19-year-old Artemis Vassilis from Koropi.

The authorities' investigations are now focusing on Artemis' friends, 17 months after her disappearance, as the file has been reopened after the investigation by the TV show "Light at the Tunnel" and the new lawsuit filed by the family's lawyer Anastasios Dougas.

From the beginning, the parents of the missing woman insisted that they did not know the whole truth from her friends about what was really going on in her life lately. They believe she would have confided something to them that could have helped the investigation.

What her friends are saying

The show tracked down a sister friend of Artemis, who spoke emotionally to the camera.

"We are going to the bad. And for us it's not easy, we've never had anything like this happen to us before. In general Artemis was closed as a character, she was difficult to open up. She had told us that she was looking for a job, but nothing special, she just wanted her pocket money. We also knew about the boy she had dated, but it was just an acquaintance."

"It's been too long. Especially in the beginning we were scared with the whole thing. It has affected us. I want to believe that she is somewhere well and that she will come back," she concluded.

What happened before she went missing

Another close friend of the missing woman tells Tunnel about an incident that happened the summer before the disappearance and may be related to her.

"One day in the summer her parents were looking for her because she was missing for hours. She had told me she was going to go swimming alone towards Varkiza. I didn't believe her though... There are many scenarios that run through my mind. I'm afraid something bad has happened to her," he said.

Artemis disappeared on Friday, October 16, 2020 from Koropi, where she lived with her family. She is 1.62 meters tall and a Silver Alert has been issued for her disappearance.
