The threshold of the interrogation office in order to apologize for a heavy charge concerning the brutal beating of his 40-year-old partner, last Friday morning in Argyroupoli, the 46-year-old judo teacher passes today.[/B] The accused, apologizes after a deadline requested and received last Tuesday when he was again brought to the courts of the former Evelpidon school, with citizens even then to condemn him for the heinous acts he is accused of committing.
The unfortunate woman victim of the 46-year-old accused by the blows she received is hospitalized in a particularly critical condition. According to information so far known, the accused brutally beat the unfortunate woman, who has been diagnosed with a head haematoma. The doctors who took her to the "Evangelismos" unit had to perform a decompressive craniectomy in order to keep her alive. Furthermore, the initial findings of the forensic report show that the 40-year-old woman has broken ribs, bruises on her limbs, as well as severe injuries to her chest.
According to reports, the injuries to her head make her health condition particularly critical. The horrific abuse suffered by the 40-year-old woman at the hands of the accused has been described, as follows, speaking to protothema.gr a close friend of her family: "He has crushed her head. Her head has been blown off. Her condition is very serious. We don't know if she will make it...". Another relative of the girl speaking to a TV station had said: "He beat her very badly, with punches all over her face. She had bruises all over her body, and she had two stab wounds. One on her thigh and one on her arm." The 46-year-old faces a charge of attempted homicide with intent while in a calm mental state. He allegedly confessed to brutally beating his partner but did not imagine that he would bring her to the point of joy. As a mitigating circumstance, he also claimed that he had called his sister in order to provide first aid to the victim.
What the 46-year-old is expected to claim
The former judo athlete with a violent past as seen through the testimonies of neighbours and his former partners and wives will try to convince the court officials that the situation got out of hand during the fight he had with his partner and in no way did he want to hit her so hard that he sent her unconscious to the hospital.
According to ERT, during his detention at the General Police Headquarters, the 46-year-old man was reportedly sending threatening messages to his former partner, with whom they have two children. In fact, the woman states that the 46-year-old threatened her over the phone saying that she would be next. The young woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, has two children with him.
"You're next"
Their relationship began in 2001 when she was 20 years old and lasted 10 years. It was in 2002 that she first came face to face with his brutal face. According to the 46-year-old's former partner, "after insulting me, he asked me to leave his home, but when I tried to leave, he first beat me savagely, then grabbed me by the neck and forcibly kept me inside the house." According to the woman, one of the times he was beaten was when he was attacked by their dog. He even did not hesitate to go so far as to hang the animal from the pergola of the balcony. And all this while he had previously pulled out his teeth!
Describing the scene of the beating he mentioned the following: "He asked me "why are your eyes black?" I replied there is nothing wrong with my eyes. Then he slapped me twice... he grabbed me by the neck and led me to the room where our 5-year-old son was, closed the door and went to fetch the little girl. I knew what was coming and tried to keep the door closed. He broke the handles and walked in... he grabbed me by the throat again yelling "I won't do you the favor of pointing a gun at you, woe is you just don't let me get you alone. They will not find where I have buried you."
She further complains that through messages he used psychological violence against her. "...to see your brother, your mother and your father melt like a candle and then you," she said in a message dated July 29, 2010, at 10.53.33 a.m. A little later the same day in another message she wrote "pick up a phone lost body, unworthy creature, worthless pick up."
Also speaking to ERT was a relative of another woman with whom the 46-year-old had married. "Anyone who objected to him would hit him directly, he was generally very violent. He used to be almost 100 kilos and you were afraid of him... This poor little girl the last one did not know his past, that is, the poor girl did not know how he entered this house and slept. I was at school and because he had broken up with ... and I was afraid that he might take it out on me."
To recall that the tragic incident happened last Friday morning in Argyroupoli and the accused when he left the 40-year-old unconscious left to escape arrest by the police who were called by bystanders who heard the screams of the girl from the brutal beating. For three days he was missing when he appeared accompanied by a lawyer at the Southeastern Attica Security Directorate where he confessed his act.
