The Archbishop is ready to withdraw the penalties for unvaccinated priests
The Archbishop is ready to withdraw his decision, which came into effect on February 1, Archbishop Chrysostomos, Archbishop of Cyprus of Cyprus, who did not respond to the call for vaccination against coronavirus, is presenting himself as Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos.
It will be recalled that the prelate of our church recently announced that of the 123 priests of the Archdiocese, 27 are unvaccinated.
According to church sources, the Archbishop initially placed 27 clergy on holiday with 15 of them being punished. Specifically, five of them were deprived of the possibility to confess and preach, while of the remaining 10, two were revoked because they were vaccinated.
[/P]As we learn, the prelate of our church mentioned in the presence of high priests a few days ago that he intends to revoke all of them. It is clarified, however, that they have not yet been lifted but it is expected within the month that the Archbishop will announce this decision.
[/P]Beyond that, so far it remains unknown how the Archbishop will act in the event that it is proven that a clergyman made propaganda or motivated believers not to proceed with vaccination.
It is worth mentioning that according to the charter of the Church of Cyprus, an Archpriest has the right to place his clergy on a holiday for up to three months for various offences.
