The assessment that we need to invest in the culture of Cyprus was expressed today by Speaker of the Parliament Anita Demetriou, adding that the work done in the renovated Archaeological Museum of Larnaca is excellent and is now a jewel for the city.

In statements following a visit and tour of the Larnaca Archaeological Museum, the Speaker of Parliament described it as "truly a jewel for Larnaca" and expressed satisfaction at her presence at the site with Transport Minister Yannis Karousos whom she thanked "warmly for all the effort all this time. We really faced many difficulties, even with the pandemic, until we could really have before us a jewel for archaeology for the history of Cyprus for Larnaca".

He added that "it is worth visiting the Museum because it adds to the history of our country", while he expressed satisfaction for the fact that "the Director of the Department of Antiquities, Dr. Marina Solomonidou Ieronymidou, together with her team, have done an excellent job presenting all the historical turning points and most important periods of the historical record of Cyprus, something very important because this option is now also offered to Larnaca".

According to the President of the Parliament, this particular "structure that was absent and adds to culture and we need to invest in culture."
