The President of the Republic, Speaker of the Parliament Anita Demetriou is closely monitoring the situation, who due to the extraordinary developments, the President of the Republic going to Brussels and pending the decisions of the European Council decided to cancel the meeting she had originally called for the 11th:00 with state officials.
"Due to extraordinary developments as well as the President of the Republic going to Brussels and pending the decisions of the Extraordinary Summit of the European Council, the meeting in the House of Representatives will not take place," a briefing from the House of Representatives said.
"We are closely monitoring the whole situation, with great anxiety and concern, and we are alert and ready," it added."
Earlier, from Dubai where he is, President Nicos Anastasiades had said that he is trying to find a way if possible to attend tonight's European Council meeting on Ukraine, "especially after this morning's development."
