An image of shame in Evangelism Collapsed false ceiling, one injured

A false ceiling collapsed at Evangelismos Hospital, resulting in a woman being slightly injured.

According to reports, the collapsed false ceiling is located in the kitchenette in the hospital's outpatient department.

The woman who was injured was examined and will remain hospitalized as a precautionary measure.

A picture of shame

While the coronavirus pandemic continues to "besiege" the country, the infrastructure of many hospitals has been left to its fate, as workers and trade unionists in the health sector have denounced many times.

The picture from Evangelism, the largest hospital in the country, says it all, about the situation in which many of the hospitals of the National Health System find themselves.

So far, it is not known whether the collapse has been caused by the strong winds brought by the bad weather "Diomedes".

In any case, the existence of such malfunctions and poor maintenance in the country's hospitals, endangering the safety of workers and patients, is a very critical issue and a huge problem that must be solved immediately if the defence of the NHS and the recognition of health as a public good are not just hollow words to caress ears and election promises.
