A quantity of cocaine weighing 265 grams approximately, was detected and seized yesterday by the YKAN, in cooperation with the Customs Department.
Specifically, after evaluating information about the arrival of a package in Cyprus, which may have contained drugs, members of the Police, in cooperation with members of the Customs Department located and checked the package, after a search at the offices of a courier company in Larnaca.
The package was found to contain three motorcycle carburetors with built-in air filters.
Inside each filter, a quantity of white solid substance, weighing approximately 265 grams in total, which appears to be cocaine, was identified and seized.
Further police investigations secured evidence against a 29-year-old man, a resident of Nicosia. A warrant for his arrest was issued against him, under which he was arrested and taken into custody to facilitate investigations.
