With the increase in cases recorded in recent days being steep but since there is currently no increase in hospitalisations, the three small relaxations decided by the Council of Ministers in the past few days come into force today.

According to experts, the increase in cases in recent days is attributed to the relaxation of the measures implemented in the previous period, as well as the Omicron 2 superbug mutation.

As of today, the test to stay in kindergartens, pre-primary and special schools for children aged 3 years and older is also in effect.

The three new relaxations coming into effect today:

a) The test to stay to to stay in kindergartens, pre-primary and special schools for children aged 3 years and older. Specifically, children who are close contacts of a confirmed positive case will be able to come to predetermined locations announced by the Ministry of Health for a rapid antigen detection test (Rapid test) on the 3rd, 5thand 7thday after contact. On the remaining days (1st, 2nd, 4thand 6th) parents should have their childrenselftest.The measure is optional.

Removing the prohibition on overnight stays of out-of-structure residents in nursing homes and closed facilities. Upon their return, residents will be required to present a same-day rapid antigen detection test (rapid test) based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the State Ministry of Social Welfare.

c) lifting the ban on school trips, based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, members of the Scientific Advisory Committee will have another meeting with the Minister of Health, with some of the scientists suggesting that the time has come to remove the mask outdoors.
