[CYPRUS TIMES] Alkis murder: The 20-year-old who had fled to Albania pleads guilty today

The ten co-defendants have already given explanations for the case to the interrogator

With the 20-year-old who had fled to Albania and surrendered the previous 24 hours to the Greek prosecuting authorities the cycle of apologies of the eleven arrested for the murder of 19-year-old Alkis and the wounding of his two friends[/B] is completed today, in the morning of February 1, in the Harilaou area of Thessaloniki.

The Albanian-born defendant will appear before the 7th regular interrogator of Thessaloniki at one o'clock in the afternoon and will present his own position on the killing incident. Through his counsel he had described his own role as "peripheral."

"I was sitting in one of the cars, in the seat behind the passenger. I did not bring any object with me and I did not manage to strike any substantial blows during the crucial time when the material incident unfolded," he is said to have stated.

Already, the ten co-accused have explained the case to the interrogator and one by one they were taken to jail as they were deemed to be temporary prisoners.

At the same time, the investigations of the Security of Thessaloniki continue for the identification of the 12th person, the driver of the third car involved in the attack and named by some of the defendants with his first name.
