The Albanian Ministry of Public Order has the international warrant for the arrest of the 20-year-old from Albania, who is believed to have fled to the neighbouring country after the murder of Alkis Kabanos in Thessaloniki.

Investigations are continuing to identify the 20-year-old allegedly involved in the murder of Alkis and has fled to Albania. An international warrant has been issued for his arrest.

As ERT reported, the Albanian ministry confirmed the arrival of the warrant and that the investigation process to locate and arrest the alleged perpetrator of the Alkis murder has already begun.

The Albanian media did not give much coverage to the event. They simply reproduced news coming from Greece because big events such as the trial for the removal of the President of the Republic are in the news.

Furthermore, the same reports say that searches have started from the border crossings but there is no update at the moment. Authorities estimate that it is difficult for the young man to have fled alone to Albania and even from unguarded crossings as is usually the case.

In the past, there have not been many cases in the country of arrest and extradition of crime suspects to other countries, state television said.

In statements to SKAI and asked about the issue yesterday Tuesday, Takis Theodorikakos said: "We expect within the day from the competent prosecutor to take the corresponding action to issue an international arrest warrant and ask the Albanian state to arrest him in order for him to come and stand trial in our country."

Theodoricakos called "a matter of honour" for the police, for justice and for the Greek state to find the guilty parties and bring them to justice and estimated that "the truth will shine and soon".

Apologies have begun

Meanwhile, today, Wednesday, the apologies of the eight people arrested for the murderous attack against Alkis begin.

Three of them will pass through the door of the 7th regular interrogator investigating the case today, while the proceedings will continue tomorrow, Thursday, and are expected to be completed on Friday.

These are the eight who were arrested last Sunday, with warrants activated by the Security of Thessaloniki.

Those arrested in the case of Alkis' murder have begun to name each other and give names for the actions of each person involved in the death ambush they set up on the unfortunate Aris fan.

Last 24 hours another person, who had been identified for involvement in the murder, was handed over to the prosecuting authorities and is expected to take his turn to answer before the same interrogator.

All of the above are being prosecuted for joint manslaughter with malice aforethought, completed and attempted, serially. Among them are eight Greeks and one Albanian, aged 20 to 25.

The statements of the police officers

Through the statements of the police officers it is revealed how the murderous attack took place. Four people were in each of them. They patrolled the alleys of Harilaos looking for Aris fans. On Plastira Street the third car turned into Gazi Street. Three people got out of the vehicle and asked Alkis' group what team they were. They replied "Aris".

In the meantime the other two cars had stopped and the people got out and moved towards Alkis' group. The two caught up and ran off. Alkis and two of his friends were savagely beaten.

Meanwhile, the head of the Thessaloniki Prosecutor's Office has ordered an investigation into incitement to violence, after Alexis Kougias made a post by PAOK president's son George Savvidis.
