A letter to the President of the Republic, in which he reiterates AKEL's willingness to help so that Cyprus is ready to face any consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, was sent by the party's General Secretary, Stefanos Stefanou, who said that AKEL's Economic Studies Sector has already prepared a preliminary document regarding the predicted effects and consequences by category.

In statements after the meeting he had with the OEB, the Secretary General of AKEL said that in his letter he asks the President to call a meeting of the Council of Heads together with the competent ministers, deputy ministers, competent departments and stakeholders, in order to discuss and reflect on how they can deal with this difficult situation as it is taking shape.

"In the letter, I reiterated AKEL's willingness, to the extent of its own capabilities, to help so that we are ready, to prepare ourselves, to face any consequences."
