In "harsh" language, AKEL attacks the government, Synergy and ELAM for honouring Grivas this year with memorials and triumphal processions.
As it says in a statement, honouring the notorious traitor of Cyprus constitutes a provocation against the Cypriot people, democracy and our homeland itself.
"Chitikos and eocabetic fascism, Grivism, belongs in the dustbins of history. Monuments and memorials deserve to the children of the people who sacrificed themselves for the homeland against Attila, to the fighters of the Resistance who defended democracy. Not to the architects of treason," it says.
Those who are left, it adds, in the year 2022, to pay tribute to Griva are called upon to recognize the historical truth and to detach themselves from the black shackles of the past.
