There is no end to the AKEL-DISY confrontation over the accuracy presented in our country, with the left-wing party's press spokesman, George Koukoumas, demanding answers from Pindarou and the Presidential Council regarding their position on ATA.
George Koukoumas' written statement. Mavridis - speaking on ANT1's midday show - was defiantly stating that the ATA should be abolished. At a time when precision is daily nibbling away at workers' wages, government MPs are calling for the abolition of a workers' conquest that protects their purchasing power.
The people remember that ten years ago, the Synergy and Averof Neophytou fought a battle with the Troika to abolish the institution of the ATA for good They did not succeed, because it was managed to keep it even frozen for a few years. Now that the time has come for it to be restored again - as AKEL and the trade unions are demanding - not only is the official Synergy in hiding, but its cadres are demanding that the ATA be abolished.
We call and challenge the government, the Synagogue and Averof Neophytou to take a stand: Should ATA be abolished or should it be fully restored and extended to every worker in the country?
