The Pafos Municipality's archives are being digitised At the former service and information centre for citizens All information What the Mayor of the city said in his statements
Within the next six months all the local authority's archives should be digitised, according to the mayor of Pafos, who noted that this is one of the main conditions for the municipality to fulfill the goal of making Pafos a smart and digital city.
The digitalisation centre of the municipality of Pafos operates in the former service and information centre for citizens on the town hall square.
The centre employs 8 Neapolis students and 6 unemployed ANAD graduates.
Pafos Mayor Phaidonas Faidonos said that "today, for a citizen to receive a tax exemption from the municipality, they have to wait at least a week and various services of the municipality have to check if there are any outstanding issues before it is issued".
In the new digital age, he continued, all this research will be done at the click of a button and at a later stage the municipality plans to create an application whereby citizens can on their own secure certain documents they need from the local authority.
