The Pafos Municipality "Aphrodite" Awards In the presence of the President of the Republic

After 20 years, the Pafos Municipality "Aphrodite" Awards will be revived through the fourth award ceremony, which will take place on Friday 18 March at 7.00 pm, at the "Attikon" Concert Hall in the presence of the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Anastasias.

At the fourth award ceremony, the "Aphrodite Grand Prize" will be awarded to Professor of Surgery Dimitrios Dimitriadis, who lives in the USA. and the expatriate businessman Loukas Pouroulis, who lives in South Africa, while the "Aphrodite Prize" will be awarded to the philologist and writer Angeliki Smyrli, the physician and academic Stathis Filippou, who lives in Germany, and the philologist, teacher and writer Georgios N. Hadjikostis.

The purpose of the Aphrodite Awards is to publicly recognise and reward individuals for their distinguished contribution or achievement in various areas of life. The Awards may cover the entire spectrum of manifestations of a modern society: Letters, Arts, Arts, Sports, Social Welfare, Economy, Environment, etc... Eligible for awards are individuals who were born and/or lived in the city and the Paphos District.

The institution is managed and directed by a special independent Committee consisting of 15 members, 8 of whom are from the Municipality of Paphos and 7 from the wider community. The Chairman of the Committee is the current Mayor of Pafos.
