He takes back what the Greek Development Minister said, who made reference to low reliability PCRs done in Cyprus.
In a post on Twitter, Adonis Georgiades wanted to clarify what he said, writing "Let's be clear: PCRs in Cyprus are reliable. I never made any reference to the quality of Flag of Cyprus' laboratory testing as evidenced by the successful response to the pandemic. In Flag of Cyprus the PCR ceiling is €50 but the market conditions are different."
It is recalled that speaking on ERT radio, he commented on the new cap on PCR molecular tests of 47 euros and on the molecular tests in Cyprus that cost 20-25 euros which he described as low reliability and fake tests.
When asked by ERT's reporter about the price of molecular tests in Cyprus starting at 25 euros, the Development Minister initially said that these are lies by SYRIZA and that they do not exist.
But the journalist explained to Adonis Georgiades that this information does not come from SYRIZA, but from Konstantinos Athanasiou, spokesman of the Cyprus Ministry of Health, who had spoken earlier in the same programme.
At that time, Mr Georgiades, changing his position, said that "yesterday Mr Plevris spoke with the Minister of Health of Cyprus and the price they gave us is 20€-50€. A price exists at 20€ in Cyprus in a company, which as we were told by our own doctors and the Panhellenic Medical Association in a meeting we had, they brought us the papers that it is very low reliability, Chinese and not similar to what is sold here. In Cyprus there is no price for the molecular test."
