A powerful 5.6 Richter earthquake shook Crete early Wednesday morning.
[/p]The earthquake occurred at 07:08 south of Heraklion at a great focal depth.
According to the first automatic reading from the Geodynamic Institute focal depth is at 42.7 kilometres.
According to reports from citizens, the earthquake seems to have been felt in Cyprus as well.
