Next week, a Greek mother and her Egyptian boyfriend will sit in the dock of the Mixed Jury Court of Rhodes, accused of committing sexual acts and abuse against the woman's underage daughter.

The case went the way of justice at the end of April 2021, when the minor girl - then 13 years old - went to the police and reported the incident.

More specifically, on April 29, 2021, the 13-year-old girl went to the Kalymnos Police Station where she reported the 39-year-old Egyptian who was staying with her mother, stating that he had raped her.

Immediately afterwards, the investigation of the case began by the police officers in consultation with the competent prosecuting authority of Kos, while the 13-year-old girl underwent a forensic examination and also testified about the case.

A case was filed against the foreigner for the offences of committing sexual acts with a minor repeatedly and abuse of a minor repeatedly and on 10 May the investigating judge of Kos issued an arrest warrant for the 39-year-old foreigner, who on the same day was found and arrested in Kalymnos by police officers of the island.

The case was referred to the hearing by a verdict of the Kos Municipal Court and apart from the 39-year-old Egyptian, the mother of the minor is also accused.

The trial is scheduled to take place on March 14 by the Mixed Jury Court of Rhodes.
