[Cyprus Times] 74 cm of snow at Troodos Square The forecasts of the Meteorological Service until Thursday

Met Office forecast The snow depth at Troodos Square, at the time of writing, was 74 cm Relatively low pressure is affecting the area.

Tonight the weather will remain partly cloudy and partly cloudy, with local showers at times, mainly on the coast, a chance of isolated thunderstorms, and snow locally in the higher mountains. Winds will be northeast to southeast and locally up to northwest light, 3 Beaufort but locally on the coast partly to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be up to a little rough, on the leeward side, but a little rough on the foreshore. Temperatures will drop to around 5 degrees inland, around 8 on the southern and eastern coasts, around 10 on the rest of the coast and around freezing in the higher mountains, where frost will form locally.

Tomorrow the weather will be partly cloudy and partly cloudy, with local showers at times, and isolated thunderstorms, in the morning mainly on the coast, but later in other areas. In the higher mountains, local snowfall is expected. Winds in the morning will be mainly southeast to southwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the afternoon southwest to west, of the same strength. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 15 degrees in the interior, around 16 degrees on the coast and around 6 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tomorrow evening the weather will be partly cloudy, while initially isolated showers are expected, mainly on the coast, or occasional snowfall locally in the higher mountains. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly light, 3 Beaufort, but initially on the coast locally up to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly choppy in the east and locally in the south, but will remain slightly choppy on the rest of the coast.

On Tuesday, in the morning the weather will be mainly clear, with locally increasing clouds and a chance of localised sparse fog in the early morning. By early afternoon the weather will become partly cloudy and locally cloudy, with a chance of isolated light rain or light snowfall, locally in the higher mountains. At night, local showers or thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the western half of the island and in the south.

On Wednesday[/B] the weather will be partly cloudy and partly cloudy, with local showers expected, mainly in the southern half of the island, and occasional snowfall on the higher peaks of Troodos.

On Thursday the weather will be partly cloudy and partly cloudy, with localised showers at times, isolated thunderstorms and snowfall on the higher Troodos peaks. In the evening, snowfall is expected locally and in the higher mountains.

Temperatures are not expected to show a significant change on Tuesday, to be close to average climatic values. A slight rise is expected on Wednesday, to remain at the same level on Thursday.
