Five human bird nests were placed within the residential area of Steni by the Community Council in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture and the Game Service in an effort for the biological control of mice.

According to an announcement by Steni Community Council Chairman Elias Lampides, the five man-bird nests were placed on trees in five different locations within the community's residential area.

"The whole effort is part of the Mouse Control Plan by the Department of Agriculture in an effort to promote the biological control of the mouse, by placing artificial nests of the human bird in areas where there is evidence of its existence," it said.

Artificial nests of the human bird have been placed in all districts.
