The police filed 20 complaints against 20 citizens and 16 establishments out of a total of 2.152 checks were carried out by the Police, from 6am on Sunday morning until 6am on Monday morning.

Specifically, according to the Police, out of 583 checks in Nicosia, 9 citizens and 9 establishments were reported. In Limassol 5 citizens and 4 establishments out of a total of 149 checks were reported, in Famagusta 4 citizens out of 420 checks. In Larnaca there were 2 complaints from citizens and 1 establishment from 468 checks, in Paphos 2 establishments were reported from 249 checks, while in Morphou there were no complaints from the 149 checks carried out.

The violations concerned the non-possession of a valid safepass by patrons and managers or employees of establishments. One complaint related to a charge of number of customers exceeding the permitted number, while another charge related to dancing in an establishment.

In addition, 5 complaints were made at the airport for arriving without a 24-hour rapid test.

Fines ranged from €500 to €1500.

Another 134 checks were carried out by the Traffic Police and 57 by the Coast Guard, with no complaints.
