Attempted destruction of property with explosives - Fire in cars - 49-year-old man arrested
A 49-year-old Limassol resident was arrested yesterday under a court warrant and detained. There were outstanding court warrants against the 49-year-old for two cases of arson of cars and attempted destruction of property with explosives.

The arson case[/B] was committed at dawn on 15[/B] February 2022, in Limassol. Specifically, at around 1.40am on that day, a fire broke out in two cars, which were parked in the parking lot of an apartment building in Limassol.
The fire was extinguished by members of the Fire Service and subsequent examinations revealed that the fire was set maliciously.
From further police investigations, testimony was secured against the 49-year-old, on the basis of which a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Testimony against the 49-year-old was also secured in connection with an explosion that occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning in a shop in Limassol.
The explosion occurred at around 1.50am yesterday in a shop owned by a 31-year-old woman. It was established that the explosion was due to the detonation of a high-powered explosive device.
The explosion caused damage to the glass display case and the interior of the store, as well as to two cars parked outside the store.
Limassol CID is investigating the two cases.
