Yesterday, the police proceeded to the arrest of a 38-year-old, to facilitate the interrogation of an investigated case of car arson.
The arson was reported to the police on the morning of January 31, 2022, by a 34-year-old resident of Limassol. According to the complaint, during the previous night, a fire broke out in the 34-year-old's car, which was parked in the yard of his home.
The fire appears to have extinguished itself after causing damage to the interior of the vehicle and was noticed by the owner of the vehicle on the morning of January 31.
Members of the police visited the scene, where examinations were conducted. It was determined that the fire was set maliciously.
From further investigations by the Police, evidence was obtained against a 38-year-old resident of a village in the Limassol district. A warrant of arrest was issued against him, under which he was arrested and detained to facilitate interrogations.
Limassol CID is investigating the case.
