A 36-year-old man was arrested at Larnaca airport[/B] for impersonation and circulation of a forged document.
According to the Police, last night at 19:30 he presented himself for passport control at Larnaca airport, Glafkos Clerides, a 36-year-old man, a political asylum seeker, with the intention to depart for London.
At the passport control, he presented to the police officer on duty an English passport, where during the control of the passport, suspicions about its authenticity were raised.
It is reported that the 36-year-old was taken to the departures office where he was questioned verbally and allegedly admitted that the passport was a forgery.
The police proceeded "to arrest him for the offences of impersonation and circulation of a forged document and he was taken into custody at the Oroklini Police Station where he is expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court today for a detention order."
