A 32 year old Limassol resident is expected to appear before the Nicosia District Court tomorrow for the immediate filing of a case against him for the offence of speeding.
The 32-year-old had been spotted this morning by members of the Traffic Police Headquarters, driving his car on the Limassol - Nicosia motorway, at a speed of 182 kilometres per hour, while the maximum limit is 100 kilometres per hour.
Police officers intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver for a self-inflicted offence.
Subsequently, the 32-year-old was taken to a police station, where he was charged in writing and released to appear before a court tomorrow.
It is recalled that speeding is one of the main causes of fatal and serious road collisions.
