Following a coordinated police operation in Larnaca, suspects were arrested for the brutal murder of Andreas Evangelou, 53 years old, committed on Tuesday night 28 December in the Mackenzie area of Larnaca.
Police handcuffed three persons, aged 44, 23 and 19 to facilitate investigations into the murder case under investigation, while the operation resulted in three other arrests, a 28-year-old and two other 20-year-olds for other criminal offences.
It is recalled that according to the investigated evidence the perpetrators appear to have been two and were riding a motorcycle and had set up a tab on Evangelos, hiding in a spot near the apartment building where he was staying.

From the very first moment, the ranks of the police were on "red alert" since the scenario of settling accounts was introduced against the background of the gangster murder.
A scenario not unrelated, it seems, to the fact that the victim was the father of a prosecution witness in a high-profile drug caseand a father-in-law of Marios Georgiou "Mariuthkia" who was murdered last April in his luxury car in Kiti.
