3.4 million new cases of COVID-19 worldwide 10,501 deaths in the last 24 hours

New cases of COVID-19 around the world exceeded 3.4 million in the last 24 hours, while new deaths from the disease reached 10,501, according to a count by the website Worldometers. Most cases and deaths were once again recorded in the United States.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 worldwide since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 370.5 million, while international deaths have exceeded 5.6 million.

More than 292.5 million people have recovered from the disease, while active cases currently stand at 72.2 million, With 99.9% having mild symptoms and 0.1% being severe/critical.

Most cases yesterday, a total of 522,300, were recorded in the US, while the country counted 2,732 new deaths. In second place was France with 353,503 new cases and 263 deaths. Brazil follows with 257,239 new cases, while recording 779 deaths, and then India, where yesterday new cases totalled 235,532, while there were 862 new deaths. Germany ranked fifth in the number of new cases with 189,464 while new deaths totalled 179.
