[Cyprus Times] 21,260 new cases and 49 new deaths from coronavirus in Greece

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours in Greece are 21,260, of which 20 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 2,604,626 (daily change +0.8%), of which 49.4% are men. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 199 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,156 are associated with an already known case.

The new deaths of COVID-19 patients are 49, with a total of 26,473 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.2% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

The number of patients hospitalized intubated is 361 (64.0% male). Their median age is 68 years. 89.2% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among intubated patients, 239 (66.2%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 122 (33.8%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,339 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 320 (daily change -10.36%). The seven-day average admission rate is 285 patients. The median age of cases is 35 years (range 0.2 to 108 years), while the median age of deaths is 79 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
