20-year-old man sentenced to jail for burglary and theft case Brought before Court The chronicle of the theft
The Paphos District Court today imposed a nine-month prison sentence on a 20-year-old Paphos resident, after finding him guilty in a case of house burglary and theft.
The burglary was reported to the police by a Paphos resident on December 22, 2021.
According to the complainant, between the dates of December 21 and 22, 2021, unknown persons broke into his home and stole a TV, a computer, a watch and an empty wallet.
Police investigations secured evidence against the 20-year-old, who was arrested on December 23, pursuant to a court warrant.
At the end of the police investigations, the 20-year-old was charged in writing, a criminal file was formed and the case was registered at the Paphos District Court for trial.
After the hearing, the Court today found the 20-year-old guilty of the offences of burglary of a dwelling and theft from a dwelling. For these two offences he was sentenced to nine and five months imprisonment respectively.
According to the Court's decision, the two sentences are concurrent.
