2.6 million new cases of COVID-19 recorded worldwide 10,501 deaths in the last 24 hours
New cases of COVID-19 around the world exceeded 3.4 million in the last 24 hours, while new deaths from the disease totalled 7,682, according to the Worldometers website.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 worldwide since the beginning of the pandemic has exceeded 373 million, while the international death toll stands at 5.67 million.
More than 294.8 million people have recovered from the disease, while active cases currently stand at 72.6 million, with 99.9% having mild symptoms and 0.1% being severe/critical.
France recorded the most cases yesterday, a total of 332,398, while there were 178 new deaths. In second place in cases was India with 234,281 new cases and 892 deaths. Brazil followed with 207,316 new cases, while recording 695 deaths. The US recorded 192,028 cases, with the country coming in first with 1,127 new deaths. Germany recorded 143,518 new cases and 91 deaths.
