Disciplinary proceedings against 15 police officers for the missing women-victims of Metaxas - Final stage of the preparation of indictments - Disciplinary Committee to be set up

The indictments to be served on the 15 police officers who were involved in the investigation of the disappeared women who, it was subsequently revealed, were victims of serial killer Nikos Metaxas, are in the final stage and disciplinary proceedings will then proceed.

The Chief of Police has called for the establishment of disciplinary committees, as provided for by law, at a time when there is reportedly dissatisfaction from the members expected to receive the indictments.

These are 15 police officers, one of whom is a Police Director and three others, then in charge of crime investigation departments.

The 15 are expected to be charged with negligence of duty according to information received so far, in connection with the investigation of the cases of five missing women and two children, who were later found to be the victims of Nikos Metaxas.

Immediately after the completion and service of the indictments, a Disciplinary Committee is expected to be set up, consisting of officials of the Legal Service and a police officer.
