15% of students in Larnaca did not go to school on Monday, Petros Chrysostomou, President of the Larnaca School Ephorate, told CNA, who said that a small percentage of students did not go to school before the Christmas holidays due to the pandemic.

At each entrance of the schools there are teachers who check the negative test presented by the students and they are allowed to enter the school. Without this form they are not allowed to enter the classrooms.
From Thursday, January 13, mobile units will visit schools and take samples from teachers and other school staff as well as students. Students will be required to present a negative test twice a week to be allowed to enter classrooms. Sampling will be conducted Monday-Thursday and Tuesday-Friday.
