118 more complaints in the last three days in Paphos for traffic violations Police operations will continue at a later stage
118 more complaints were made in the last three days in Paphos and on the secondary road network, for various traffic violations, according to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michael Ioannou.
Mr. Ioannou said that from 06:00 in the morning of January 24 until 06:00 in the morning of January 28, as part of the effort of the Paphos Police Directorate to reduce road traffic collisions and offences against property such as theft and burglary, motorized patrols have been organized as well as vehicle interceptions and searches of persons from which 118 complaints were received.
One complaint involves driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and one involves driving a moped without a helmet.
Another 17 complaints involve driving in excess of the speed limit, 7 involve driving a vehicle using a mobile phone, 3 complaints for driving a vehicle without a driver's license, 6 complaints for driving without insurance, one complaint for parking in a handicapped space, and another 82 complaints in violation of the traffic code.
In terms of road collisions a total of 8 were reported of which 7 were only property damage and one with one injury.
Police operations will continue at a later stage.
