The list of Greek expatriates in eastern Ukraine who died today following Russian bombing is growing.

A short while ago it became known that in the village of Sartana which was mercilessly pounded from the air - it has not been clarified whether it was artillery shots, shells received from fighter jets or shots from Russian ships moving in the Sea of Azov - four more Greek expatriates died.

Within a few hours, 10 Greeks lost their lives due to the relentless strikes by Russian forces in the wider Mariupolis area.

The first two Greek expatriates died from shelling in the village of Sartana, about 10 kilometres outside Mariupolis, and six more Greeks were wounded. A short time later four more Greeks were found dead in the village of Bougas, 70 kilometers north of Mariupolis.

On Saturday night it was announced that four more expatriates were killed by shots fired from the air in the village of Sartana. All 10 Greeks killed, as well as the six wounded, were civilians, according to available information.

Fury from Foreign Ministry: Russia to stop criminal attacks



In a harsh statement, the Greek Foreign Ministry called on the Russian Federation to stop the criminal attacks.

"The aerial attacks against civilians, which continue in the village of Sartana and which have led to the death of four additional expatriates, are unacceptable criminal acts. We condemn them unequivocally. We call on the Russian Federation to immediately cease air attacks and all actions against civilian civilians."
