1.02 million new cases of COVID-19 worldwide 2,735 deaths in the last 24 hours

COVID-19 cases reached 491.09 million and 6.17 million deaths worldwide, according to data from the Worldometers website. At the same time, 425.7 people have recovered. A total of 1.02 million new cases and 2,735 new deaths were recorded yesterday, worldwide.

Of the 59.1 million active cases, 99.9% have mild symptoms while 0.01% are severe or critical. Of the 431.9 considered closed cases, 99% have recovered and 0.1% have died.

Most cases totaling 264,097 were recorded in the last 24 hours in South Korea, followed by France with 132,114 cases, Germany with 128,639, Italy with 70,803 and Vietnam with 65,619.

Most deaths from the disease were recorded in Russia yesterday, with a total of 340, followed by South Korea with 339 deaths, Germany with 187, the US with 150 and Italy with 129 deaths.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the most cases have been recorded in the US (81.8 million), India (43 million) and Brazil (29.9 million). The US also leads the death toll with 1,008,159 deaths, followed by Brazil with 660,192 and India with 521,374.
