The Met Office on Monday issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms valid from 9am to 5pm.
According to the warning, isolated heavy thunderstorms are expected to initially affect the west half of the island and gradually the rest of Cyprus.
Precipitation rate is expected to range between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour while hail is also likely.
