The Larnaca Criminal Court on Friday imposed a nine-year prison sentence on a 34-year-old man after finding him guilty of sexually abusing his partners daughter.
According to media reports, the convicted man sexually abused the girl from the age of 8 to 16.
A statement issued by the police further added that as part of the same case, the 38-year-old mother of the child was previously sentenced to 16 months in prison for domestic violence.
The offences were committed between 2014 and 2021 in a house in the Larnaca district.
The main witness in the case was the abused minor, who described her horrific experience in front of the court. She also detailed the abuse she received from the mother. Her testimony was deemed credible by the judge and her stepfather was convicted.
