The forestry department on Thursday carried out a blood donation drive in preparation of ‘Tree Week’, which is set to start on Sunday.
The initiative extended to the blood bank of the Engomi Health Centre, as well as other clinics in other cities.
In an official statement, the department highlighted that by actively engaging in such events, its personnel not only are fulfilling the paramount duty of safeguarding forests but also address significant societal needs by contributing blood for fellow citizens.
