The Greek-born Frenchwoman Gabriella Papadaki and her compatriot Guillaume Cicero won the gold medal in figure skating (ice dancing) at the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

The 26-year-old Papadaki, in an interview with the Athens Macedonian News Agency on Christmas 2021, had stated that her goal was to win the gold medal in the top event, after winning the silver medal with 27-year-old Cizeron at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

It is worth noting that the Olympic gold medal was the only thing missing from the trophy case of Papadakis/Ciseron, who are rightly regarded as one of the top "twins" in the history of the sport.
