The weather phenomena are gradually receding, the Director of the Department of Meteorology, Kleanthis Nicolaides, told CNA, adding that the yellow warning is in effect until early afternoon, at 4 o'clock.

"It is in any case not expected to be reissued. Tonight will be a cold night, roughly similar to freezing. Around 3 degrees in the interior, around 5 to 6, 7 degrees on the coast and -5 degrees in the higher mountains. Phenomena will continue tomorrow Wednesday with localized showers, isolated thunderstorms and snowfall at an elevation of 600 meters and above, with temperatures noticeably below normal. Around 8 degrees in the interior and coastal areas, and 0 degrees in the higher mountains," he added.

According to Nicolaides, both tonight and tomorrow there will be areas with frost.
