President Nicos Anastasiades gave the assurance that the Government will provide the necessary tools to AHK to enable it to proceed with the plans for the modernisation and further penetration of the Independent Energy Providers and for additional providers to join the Cypriot market beyond the two that are already in the transitional market.
According to a statement by the Presidency, President Anastasiades was speaking during a meeting at the Presidential Palace on the progress of AHK in the new competitive environment with the participation of Energy Minister Natasha Pilidou and Finance Minister Konstantinos Petrides.
The President of the Republic made it clear that the main concern of the state is to achieve the maximum possible reduction in the cost of electricity for the consumer.
