Health Minister Michalis Hadjipantelas requested that all samples related to the alleged error in the laboratory test results of AEK Athens players be sent on Monday to the Institute of Neurology and Genetics for analysis and verification based on information from the Ministry of Health.
The Health Minister requested further analysis of the laboratory test after announcements made first by the AEK Board of Directors and then by the private laboratory that carried out the tests.
Specifically, AEK announced on 7 January that the two cases of football players announced on Monday, 3 January are not valid, as they were misdiagnosed by the chemist who carried out the PCR laboratory tests of the COVID-19 virus.
